The CAP Projects (CAP):
Bringing Communities & Parents Together

CAP is a grassroots initiative committed to empowering parents to confidently and effectively advocate for their children in public schools. We work to dismantle the systemic barriers that prevent equitable education by providing parents with practical tools:

  • we teach them how to navigate school policies

  • write persuasive emails (emails are accountability receipts)

  • prepare for meetings with district leadership

  • build productive, lasting relationships with educators

The CAP Projects offers a more sustainable, informed path rooted in strategy, skill-building, and community support. We host workshops and coaching sessions in trusted, neutral spaces like libraries and community centers separate from school-led meetings to foster honest dialogue, peer connection, and real solutions.

Our mission is to ensure that every parent, regardless of background, feels equipped and empowered to advocate for the success and dignity of their child.

CAP will host, facilitate, and engage communities and parents by introducing initiatives to better serve educational, cultural, and social needs.

“It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.”

How You Can Help CAP Continue To Serve

For nearly a decade, CAP’s founder, Teffannie J. Hale, has made civic engagement and equity-driven education her life’s work. Through The CAP Projects, she empowers individuals and communities to challenge bias, uplift marginalized voices, and advance systems-level change. Her leadership is grounded in both advocacy and action, volunteering, giving, and serving directly in under-resourced schools and communities. The CAP Projects reflects her deep commitment to equity, justice, and parent power.

CAP initiates and participates in several programs and causes such as:
•    School supply drives and winter attire for students who walk to school.
•    Financial and logistical support for parent and student educational meetings.
•    Household items and essential personal care items for parents and students.
•    Emotional and financial planning support for new parents post-delivery.

Your donations will help CAP continue to provide vital support and resources for at-risk, disadvantaged, and low-income families and communities. Thank you in advance for your compassion.
